I am a retired university lecturer, good listener and conversationalist, courteous, open and honest so here are the facts - long term (25 years +) legally separated - not divorced for pension reasons. Also have shaky left hand due to early Parkinson's but this doesn't stop me driving, walking, gardening an allotment with a mini-vineyard, cycling off-road trails, spinning at the gym, ( when it's open-thanks Covid-19!!!) etc. Also enjoy cooking especially for/with a lady friend, theatre and cinema, reading and relaxing with a good dvd TV programme/film and glass of wine, any colour. Community orientated as am secretary of my allotment association and also edit quarterly magazine of local narrow gauge railway group. Believe that whether your cup is half full or half empty it can always be filled up again.

Impossible to define precisely since at our age compromises are necessary to make the good friendship which is the basis for a relationship. But will there be the 'chemistry'. I may have 'O' and 'A' level chemistry but it seems such paper qualifications don't guarantee the right 'chemistry' for attraction. She will be open and communicative, not dogmatic, have a good sense of humour, honest, enjoy outdoor activities, not own a yappy dog, be well informed with middle to left of centre political views and an interest in gardening, walking, crosswords/codewords, etc. and have interests of her own I could learn about. Not a big ask surely?
