About her
I am a single parent living in a lovely, community conscious part of North London. The people here are everything I'd like to think I am too. Considerate, decent, open, honest, warm and accepting. Of course it's not all like that and if I remove my rose tinted specs things look different. But on the whole I choose not to as I like my cup to (usually be) half full.
My friends would probably say that lockdown hasn't been too hard for me. I love walking the dog, swimming outside, reading and a gripping series on tv. I love my friends (generally in small gatherings - I'm not a fan of big groups), doing what I can to help others, working from home and early nights. But I missed travel and planning holidays, the spontaneity of meals out and culture - films, theatre, comedy and music and everything in between.
Politics has been under my skin for many years (due to a long, related career) and I'm now back in that field as a contractor in a role that gives me both buzz and meaning.
My most immediate dreams are to see an end to the pandemic and discover the beginnings of something new. It's a mixture of happy and sad, carefree and worried. And that generally sums up my outlook on life!
About her ideal match
I'd love to meet someone of similar age and stage to me. Someone who can start to think about their future. A future that might involve a bit more freedom alongside everything important in life - family, work, friends and giving back to others.
Someone who has liberal outlook is important. This isn't necessarily a political statement but more a way of thinking. I find an open, non judgemental approach to life attractive. And if you consider yourself to be sincere and to have integrity we could be a match!
To me a good relationship is based on talking and hearing. I'd love to be with someone who felt ok talking at an everyday level and at a deeper, emotional level.
Above all I'd like to be with someone who feels they have lived a good and decent life and there's more of that to come. This doesn't deny that we have all had difficulties - many in some cases - and I'm not worried about. I'm prepared to embrace all that as well as share my own difficulties to have a nice pal to enjoy the future with.
