About him
Born in Continental Europe, I grew up multilingual. I first went to school in Switzerland; later, I studied in Italy and in England. Although I mainly live in a London suburb, I have a second home in Southern Burgundy - the reason for the latter being that, after decades, I still struggle with the British climate.
Luckily, my job as a journalist/writer has always been my hobby, not least because of enabling me to travel to and make friends in many parts of the world. My latest professional stint was lecturing on Leonardo da Vinci’s portraits and fakes to French museum audiences.
My mostly cultural interests include sculpting, the piano, photography and architecture. However, I am also passionate about cooking or playing chess. A perpetual quest for knowledge, driven by professional and natural curiosity, belongs to my foremost character traits.
Given my multifaceted background and person, it may strike you as old fashioned, but I do value courtesy. Last but not least: I have no time for opportunists - nor for aggressive, self righteous, loud and two-faced people.
