About her
I am quite a confident person, who may seem a little reserved on first meeting ,but I soon get to know people : I think my friends would say I am approachable and kind ,and interested in what they do and how they feel.
I am interested in a wide range of subjects, from politics to cooking ,and although I enjoy chatting about light hearted things ,I also enjoy talking about more serious subjects,and like to keep up to date with what’s happening in the world.
I love reading ,mainly detective novels,though I often re-read more classical literature ,and have a very eclectic taste in music : I enjoy theatre and cinema .
I love being outside ,and enjoy walking (not too far ! ) and visiting new places -the countryside and coast are relaxing places for me ,even sitting in my own small garden,enjoying a drink and the birdsong .
I am close to my immediate family, children and siblings ,and although we live in different parts of the country we see each other as often as we can,and sometimes holiday together ,including my 95 year old mum .We spend time in France every year,and I speak a very basic French,and continue to learn !
Since becoming a widow 12 years ago,I have kept busy,bringing up my daughter ,and,once she left for university,volunteering ,attending art classes and keep fit ,and although I have close female friends whom I cherish and regularly see ,I increasingly find I miss male company ,and someone on my wave length,to enjoy life with .

I would like to meet someone who has wide ranging interests ,likes doing things in a twosome ,but also socialising with friends and family .They will hopefully enjoy a wide range of activities from visiting historical places, experimenting with different recipes and trying wild swimming ( maybe ! )
