About her
I'm an intelligent, outgoing and active person who enjoys good company and interesting conversation. I love walking, gardening, cooking and travel and I want to make the most of this stage of my life. I recently retired from challenging career, allowing a new chapter to begin.
My family hail from England but I went to university in Wales and fell in love with its mountains, moors and seascapes and so stayed. After completing a PhD I have mostly worked in Higher Education in areas of widening access and funding for large projects. My work was stimulating and rewarding and, I hope, made a difference.
I am a keen walker and runner. There is something magical about early mornings in summer and winter. However I also love cities, art galleries, interesting gardens and enjoying a coffee while watching the world go by. I now have time to sample and enjoy so many things this world offers.
Family and friends are important to me and I enjoy some long-term friendships from my early years and college days. My son and daughter are grown and are out in the world pursuing interesting careers.
I learned to cook in a big farm kitchen and maintain seasonal traditions of jam and chutney making along with sloe gin and other country delights.
I look forward to meeting a man of a like mind with whom I can enjoy and share life both physically and intellectually to enhance both of our lives.
