I am retired after a full career in the Army and then in the Care Sector. I like to keep fit and play squash, as well as walk most days.
I like to travel and would much enjoy sharing that with a female companion. I have a satisfactory income without being wealthy and enjoy going out to eat or visit the theatre or cinema. I am told that I am a gregarious type and I enjoy meeting new people. I read novels regularly, a newspaper every day and keep myself abreast of current events. I have 2 children and 5 grandchildren who live some distance away from me and I try to see them every couple of months.

I am looking for an attractive, intelligent lady with a sense of humour who would like a friendship that could develop into a permanent relationship if it suits us both. She would need to be prepared to travel abroad on holiday at least twice a year and visit areas of the UK in between. It would be nice if she has an interest in bridge and/or golf but not essential. Even better if she enjoys cooking, as I don't. I hope she would enjoy a drink most days and definitely not be a smoker! A car driver would be helpful. I am learning to play golf but it is not a fixation! A lady looking for companionship who is prepared to be flexible and share activities is likely to be comfortable with me.
