About him
My interests include eating out in restaurants, dinners with friends, watching films and series on a big screen home cinema, travel (sometimes slightly adventurous), hillwalking, working out, listening to music, cycling and kayaking (summer). But it’s hard to beat a nice meal in, a bottle of wine, and maybe a good film.
It's good to pack as much as possible into life, and following St Augustine: “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page”, I like to create complicated holidays.
I don’t have children but I do have two stepsons. I have had two long happy and successful marriages, and am looking for a further close long-term relationship.
My strengths: optimistic, adaptable, spontaneous, emotionally intelligent (for a man anyway!) kind, affectionate, and perceptive. I like to think of myself as being good at empathising, and where required I love to help solving people’s problems.
I spent three years at the upper-class holiday camp that is Cambridge University. My subject was maths, but I am now almost fully recovered. When working in a petrol station in between jobs I was cornered by a drunk at 1 a.m. who eventually staggered out boasting that he would change my career. Seven hours later I was woken by a call from the Head of Home Office Statistics offering me a brilliant job! For the last 25 years of my working life I ran my own medical statistics business.
