About him
Hi. I'm a single guy in his mid fifties hoping to meet new friends and extend his social circle. Whilst I'm only looking for friendship initially I may be interested in more with the right person at the right time. Ideally I'd like to meet someone who was interested in a long term relationship.
I enjoy Classical Music, Good Food, Good Wine, Literature, Amateur Writing, Bellringing, Politics/Current Affairs and Political Satire (about which I blog) amongst other things. A reader of Private Eye and a regular blogger. I'm a Royalist in accordance with the spirit of my home town, and patriotic in, I hope, the best possible sense. Also I'm a regular churchgoer who is ecumenical in outlook and practice.
I'm a loyal, decent, honest guy who I hope people consider worth knowing. I value integrity, loyalty and honesty in others too.

My ideal match would be someone who enjoys at least some of the things which give me pleasure. However I'm open to learning about new interests and ideas. I think shared basic values are what really matter though. The sort of person I'm looking for would be honest, gentle, thoughtful, reasonably broadminded (I don't like prudery), have a good sense of humour and not sweat the small stuff.
