About him
I'm 59 and still fit and (I hope) in reasonably good shape (despite no interest whatsoever in any sporting activity, ever). Bit of a hair loss situation, tho.
I'm probably at the quiet, hopefully nice end of the spectrum. Kind to children and animals. On the other hand I have a management background and up to a point like to feel I'm moving onwards and upwards.
I'm interested in politics and what's going on in the world. I'm interested in art , and many sorts of music. I like being out walking in the countryside. I'm an architecture enthusiast, and my ideal is to live, as I do at present, in a nice old house in the countryside , or failing that somewhere urban but quiet and leafy.
I studied history at Oxford and then went into management in a nationalized industry, eventually setting up my own small firm in the same field. I disposed of the business a while ago and recently I've been doing up my house and doing internet trading. I'm very solvent, you don't need to worry about it.
I should stress that I'm a Guardian-reading Labour loyalist, and won't be likely to get on with anyone who's enthusiastic about the present government.

I suppose I'm looking for someone who is intelligent, nice, unpretentious, with a sense of fun, who hasn't become stuffy and middleaged but who has stayed informal and fairly youthful, as I hope I have. Someone who wants a happy, loving, active and hopefully longterm relationship. Some common interests and outlooks would be good.
