About her
I’m happy and content with my life and didn’t think I’d be back trying internet dating again, but my daughter said something the other day which got me thinking. “Mum you’ve still got a lot of years left to live, wouldn’t it be nice to have some company to spend them with?” That got me thinking, so here I am.
A little about me.
Basically, I think Im a good catch! Though I’m very much not perfect and I don’t read the Telegraph!
I’ve been on my own - though not necessarily single - for a while, so looking for friendship first and then see how things might develop (or not).
Now the ‘this is me and what I like to do’ stuff’ ….
I retired a couple of years ago from a career as an nhs midwife and now live alone with my little cockerpoo - Dougal. I am blessed to live in a lovely part of the country - close to the New Forest and half a mile from the sea. I’m quite a home loving person since retirement and spend my days pottering in the garden, reading in my summer house, interspersed with dog walks, painting (I’m not very good though), meeting up with friends and visiting family, playing bowls and going to the gym (when I can be bothered!).
Superficially I can appear quite chatty and extroverted but I’ve become more introverted with age and life experiences … ok baggage. We all have it, and that’s ok. What’s even more ok, imho, is to be honest and open about it. I think a lot but ‘feel’ even more. I can be very sensitive and I don’t think of that as a negative trait. I’m fiercely independent though and struggle to accept help from anyone. I love a deep philosophical/ethical conversation with someone I can trust. I’m an INFP (though on some tests it’s INFJ).

In many ways I’m looking for my mirror image (isn’t everybody?), with a few personality ‘tweaks’ to compliment mine.
A sense of humour is essential, as is kindness, honesty, humility and empathy.
I’m more interested in how you feel and what you think than where you’ve been or what activity you’ve done.
Intelligence comes in many different forms and I find them all attractive in a person.
I’m not interested in excessive wealth, status or the car that you drive.
