About him
My natural impulse is to be creative, not just in art, but in life.
Having spent all my career in Art and Design, l’m now retired and living in a pretty Cotswold village.
I’ve lived and worked in London most of my life, so my roots are there, with memories of my happy childhood in a working class family ( of which l’m immensely proud ) and the heady days of Art College, playing in a rock band,- l’d love to go back in time and see myself then, l long haired hippie in leather bomber jacket and drainpipes, ha! - well l haven’t changed much, just a little older and a degree smarter.
Art college widened my horizons, making me more culturally rounded and curious.
Going to Jazz clubs and Classical Concerts became my thing as l naturally progressed in my art career. I think this time in my life formed me as a person, l delved into everything connected with the Arts, Film, Theatre, Dance, Literature, l couldn’t get enough, contributing to me being a more insightful individual l believe.
After years of illustrating l retired, leaving London to live in the Cotswolds, a big step at the time, ending a long relationship, in more ways than one.
I walk a lot and appreciate my rural surroundings, l like to observe, sketch or take photos, aspects in changing light, but the bug for the big city is still there, so l visit frequently, never missing big exhibitions or important theatre, serious drama, classical or contemporary.
Now having completed a big body of work, l want to focus on my greater priority, to find love.
Everything is bigger and better when shared, nothing can take the place of human companionship,- the singular most important thing l’ve learnt in my past years.
