I am honest, loyal, easy going and supportive.
Joined Royal Navy at 15, loved the life, sailed every ocean visiting over 50 countries. Met and worked with amazing people from all walks of life, at one stage seconded to the Royal Household. Experiences include being caught in Typhoons in the South China Sea, fighting serious ship fire in mid Pacific being rammed in the Arctic. All in a day's work.
Post Navy worked in Theatre for a time before putting myself through University, led to me being offered and accepting position of University Lecturer. Later I accepted the position of Network Manager in a large college where I designed and built one of the largest educational computer and telephony networks in the south of England. Now happily engaged in DIY projects around the house and garden. Present task constructing new timber garden gates.
Love most types of music, prone to breaking into dance while cooking in the kitchen and accompanying that with singing (not very well) .
I love the countryside and the coast, walking with my dog in all weathers usually with a stupid smile on my lips. Love the smell of the sea, the wind in my face and the smell of the salt air, the sound of the wind through the trees.
Enjoy DIY, reading, gardening, cooking, walking my dog, photography and listening to my old collection of vinyl.
Have homed rescue dogs since 1981. Used to have 2 at a time but now just the one.
I miss being in a relationship with a loving partner, the comfortable silences broken with a knowing smile, the enjoyment of simple pleasures like holding hands when out and the moments of ridiculous stupidity which when seen by the younger generation will elicit such phrases as 'Act your Age Why Don't You', answered by me with a smile of total contentment.
