Brought up on Surrey/Sussex borders, but with strong Yorkshire farming origins. Now live twenty mins from The Lakes on the left and The Dales on the right; also in striking distance of almost anywhere (M6 10 mins).
Walking? Enjoy gentle meanders, rather than forced marches, preferably not teetering beside perilously high precipices. Films ... yes, love those, especially on the sofa by the fire. Music I love too, mainly classical - must find more time for it. Voluntary work? Oh yes! Am currently a Sunday guide in NT castle, which is definitely fun rather than work.

I channel my artistic temperament (NB not to be confused with talent) mainly into writing and painting. Also enjoy cinema, theatre, antiques, classical music, ITALY, poetry, literature ... and food. Have benefited from private education, and hoping to meet a well-spoken (and grammatically UNCHALLENGED) man - as well as an intelligent one. Am fairly pernickety in that respect, but am not as dreadful as I might sound!
I love the company of my friends, but also cherish moments of being alone. Despite this, I am fun most of the time. Widowed - yes, for 18 years. Am increasingly missing the warmth, playfulness and trust of a close relationship.
Passionate - very- about all sorts of things. I veer erratically between caution and impulse. I confess to intolerances, but these are balanced by much sweeter things. Try me!

Astute, intelligent, gentle and charming. Well spoken and fun to be with. TALL and slim (I apologise for this bias, but I can't help it). Preferably smooth shaven, neat beards can be acceptable (on the right man) but preferably no mucky-looking "designer" stubble.. A man who respects other living creatures, and does NOT indulge in killing or maiming them for the sake of so-called "sport". One who loves the countryside for its beauty and serenity, and who reveres the same in people. A veritable paragon, in fact - but an endearingly flawed one could also fit the bill!
