I enjoy bringing a smile to other people's faces. I like watching the sun set, but prefer the dawn. I love the country, but tolerate towns if there's a reason to be there. I like to be able to talk openly about any subject without people taking offence. I don't do arguments. I am intelligent and well educated, but am rebellious not stuffy. I am as happy reading Chaucer as watching South Park. Likewise Metallica or Stravinsky. I miss having someone to share with. I prefer sobriety to drunkenness, but not averse to drinking when the occasion presents itself. I like camping and walking up mountains. Can't believe I'm over 60! I would like to meet someone who is happy in hiking boots, and enjoys waking up in a tent. I enjoy cooking and will happily spend several hours in the kitchen. I like to find enjoyment in everything I do (be it work or play) and expect the same of others. I've had many careers from engineering to microfilm technician and from carpentry to being head gardener at a mansion house. I am good at anything I set my mind to, but have made more money for other people than I have for myself. Money is a means and not an end, but it would be nice to have more means! I cannot stand liars, cheats or thieves or any form of political correctness. I don't have taboo subjects or religion. I am very English, and put great stock in politeness and good manners. I am a single parent of 3 "grown up" children, who are most important to me. My daughter graduated with BSc Zoology and MSc , eldest has Masters in Physics with Astrophysics (I graduated 3 years ago with a BSc Hons), so job done there and time to start thinking more about my own future and happiness! There's a lot of world out there, that I've only seen on TV, and I want to see it and be it :)

Open minded and Intelligent, physically fit and more easilly moved to laughter than to tears. Feminine, but not fragile; sexy but not tarty; classy but not know it. She would make me laugh and feel relaxed. She would enjoy walking (and sitting!) in wild places, and not mind climbing over gates, fences, trees and rocks to see what lies beyond. She would like looking round castles and old churches, historical monuments and musea, but also like watching horror films and going to rock concerts. She would not think twice about holding a door open, but be equally pleased for it to be held. She would take pride in her appearance, but not be obsessed with it. She would not shy away from getting her hands dirty, but would not wish them to stay that way. Showering together removes the grime! She would stand up for herself, but allow me to stand next to her. She would laugh at my jokes because they're funny and not out of politeness.
I in return would look after her, entertain her, and pay her copious compliments interspersed with mild teasing! If ever I get a slap I would like to have earned it, and expect to be able to retaliate!!
