About him
Life is good but someone special to share things with would be even better.
I have what are often described as old fashioned values. I'm romantic with a love for the countryside and black Labs. My friends tell me I'm good company, courteous, scrub up quite well and have a dry sense of humour. Apparently I'm quite a good cook and I actually quite enjoy cooking for company and particularly enjoy cooking with company but when it is just for me it is often simply food as fuel.
I don't drink and never have but have no problem with alcohol per se - although would not be interested in a heavy drinker.
I love spending time in the local countryside but also enjoy quizzes, pub lunches and barn dances - although I am rather out of practice alas so probably have two left feet at the moment but with dances like "Strip the willow" almost everyone gets it wrong as it speeds up and that is part of the fun.
The photograph to the right of the one where I am wearing a hat is the most recent one which I wanted to make that my main profile image - but it was rejected as I was not close enough to the camera - which is ironic as I am closer than in the older one that they did accept.
I alternate between bearded and clean-shaven and find a beard is useful additional insulation in winter.
Contented in this area, happy to visit other parts of our lovely country but don't see the attraction of jetting off to far-flung places - I think the term "vanity travel" is often all too appropriate.

I'm looking for a local lady with similar values with whom I can grow old (dis)gracefully, who is happy in wellies or heels, with a style best described as "understated elegance" and a love of holding hands in public :-))
Having some shared interests is is good but mutual acceptance of those interests that are not shared is vital.
I know there are valid reasons for not having any public photographs but if possible I would prefer at least one visible and recent photograph.
