Me? You want to know about me? Hmmmm.... Well, I'm pretty independent and know my mind, by which I mean I can sometimes be outspoken!
I really enjoy good company, but I'm also happy to spend time alone...
I'm pretty practical around the house, and I own a comprehensive tool box, used to tackle painting, decorating, plastering, laying floors, putting up shelves etc.
I had a go at bricklaying too - but outside where the mistakes can be forgiven.
I like gardening and took on an allotment earlier in the year.
The returns are vegetables for half the neighbourhood. I've lost friends from pressing rhubarb upon them,.
But I won't be giving it up until I have to. That makes me determined or mad, not sure which, really.
I'm creative,I think. Anything from flower arranging to sewing, knitting (yup), and playing around with paint.
I always have a project on the go...or several, so there's a bit around the house which remains unfinished... Well, I never said I was perfect!
I read a lot and I think I'm pretty articulate. I listen to the radio, because I don't have a TV.
I'd also call myself liberal, in the true sense of the word. I loathe any kind of discrimination, hard right politics or meaness of spirit.
I'm really good at mooching: shops, other people's gardens, galleries, museums, old houses, I'll mooch anywhere moochable...
I love a live concert, classical or rock or jazz (Miles Davis is a favourite), but prefer the spoken word on the radio; it keeps me company.
I would love to travel more, but would prefer to share with a companion.
I also love any kind of practical challenge (within my skills or physical ability).
Never minded getting dirty, providing I have the Marigolds or leather gloves on!
I asked a good friend at this point.... and she said - "Quick witted, intelligent, compassionate, one of life's happy people, open minded, sensible but not scared to be adventurous, loyal, direct, fun".
