About him
I am a relaxed caring person looking to meet a female counterpart for friendship and possible long term relationship. I don't think that I come with any emotional baggage. I have a great family and good friends, some of them female. I have no problems with my single status but it would be nice to have that emotional bond you get from someone who is more than just good friends.
I am sometimes accused of looking younger than I am although my hair is thinner than it was. I'm slim though there is a tendency towards middle age spread. I probably haven't grown old gracefully but I'm certainly not pretending to be younger than I am. My interests include reading (I was probably too bookish for the library where I worked), driving, good television, history, holidays to Greece and Portugal, cricket, economics and Ireland. I also like the cinema but it's no fun going on your own. I love old cars and I am planning to buy a classic Mercedes (not an expensive one) in the near future. My musical tastes are more Jim Morrison than James Morrison. I am also trying to broaden the type of music I listen to. I am listening to some classical music and some classic soul.
When I'm in Greece I like to spend some time on the beach but it's not all I go there for. I also like to visit archaeological sites. I go walking in the hills and I like to sit in a taverna and watch the world go by.
I am a political animal and am very interested in the mechanics of the election process. I love working in polling stations on election days. My own political views are left of centre but that would not preclude me from meeting someone with different views (my best friend votes Conservative). However, as a believer in European cooperation I am still angry over the result of the referendum and could not become involved with a Brexit supporter. I am prepared to travel anywhere in Britain to meet someone. One more thing, I am not looking to give anyone a difficult time.

I am looking for someone with a warm heart whom I can respect and who will respect me. I have no preconceived ideas about the person I meet except to say that as a believer in the ideals of the enlightenment (I know it sounds pompous) I could not get involved with an anti-vaccer or any other type of conspiracy theorist. It doesn't matter whether your interests are similar or different to mine. You may be younger or older, any physical type, introverted or outgoing. What is important is whether there is a spark between us.
