As well as watching rugby, one of my passions is vintage & classic sports cars, both for their aesthetic beauty & challenging drive. In the past I have enjoyed stints as navigator on several vintage rallies, been driver & 'bouncer' on hill trials (an excellent laugh & very muddy), and have also been known - on occasion - to don overalls & 'have a go' at the mechanical bits. What fun! Once bitten, forever smitten. I would dearly love to own one of these superb auto masterpieces.
I live in a bungalow on a shooting estate 2.5 miles from Stockbridge and although lucky enough to have spent my childhood in Africa (and subsequently lived & worked in various places around the world) I have to admit to being rather fiercely patriotic about our little island. However, I'm so fed up with the awful weather, am now considering moving abroad again. Somewhere rural, possibly S France or Italy, would be ideal.
Given the opportunity, I enjoy skiing, water skiing, scuba diving, swimming, tennis, badminton, cycling & running (I was a triathlete, half-marathon & 10K racer in my distant past). Leisure pastimes - when I have the time, or someone to enjoy them with - are: antiques, theatre, architecture, English heritage & country houses, gardening, wine & viniculture, anything to do with the countryside/country sports & country pursuits. Oh, and a little polo (watching that is) whenever I get the chance.
I have eclectic tastes and love romantic classical music, Radio 4, fine food & excellent wine. Whilst possessing a caring, warm & kind nature I also have a mischievous sense of humour, love to laugh, enjoy life to the full and believe in old-fashioned values & loyalty. Equally at home in wax jacket and wellies or cocktail dress and high-heels, I am very feminine (definitely NOT a feminist) and would appreciate a truly old-fashioned gentleman who knows how to properly treat a lady.

I am hoping to find someone who is smart, articulate, chivalrous, strong, honest, optimistic, kind & gentle and with whom I can share laughter, love, respect, similar interests and - very importantly - consider my best friend. Hopefully sporty (but not necessarily so), he will ideally be interested in some or all of the interests I have detailed above and/or perhaps others he could share with me. Already living in, or a desire to live in, a rural environment would be an absolute bonus.
Although I am willing to accept someone who insists on wasting good time and effort on golf, or even football (I can't believe I said that) - I do, however, draw the line at Ikea . . . !
