About her
Those who are close to me would say I am a true and loyal person who is a good listener, who values honesty above other traits and is generally very calm and content with life. I would also expect them to say I have a hidden mischievous streak which only those very special to me can unearth! Very little rattles me other than rudeness, ignorance and dishonesty.
I love walking on beaches in the depths of winter with the waves crashing and stormy clouds overhead, and whilst the sun warms the heart it is the colours of Autumn and wildness of Winter which stir my soul. I have been lucky to travel far afield both with work and for pleasure but nothing beats the wild atmosphere of Scotland and especially Eire, where I have been returning to for the last few years and have some great memories of stumbling (gently!) up Irish mountains and enjoying the spectacular West coast scenery.
Although I enjoy exploring other parts of the country I am a bit of a homebird and like to spend time pottering around my little cottage and garden and trying to finish off all those DIY jobs which just keep appearing. I really enjoy cooking for friends and also love going out for country pub meals. I like the odd dance but I am not one for nightclubs I am afraid!
I live in a beautiful part of Wiltshire and love going for long walks followed by collapsing in front of a roaring log fire. If I had to describe my perfect day it would probably be a lazy Sunday waking up, a not so gentle stroll in stunning countryside and then settling down in front of the woodburner with a glass of wine, a good book and amusing company.
I try and keep fit after long days at work, nothing too strenuous but I do enjoy swimming and Pilates. I am also involved in voluntary work which takes up a fair amount of my time and whilst challenging it is very worthwhile. I also enjoy going to the theatre and the cinema as much as possible.

I am an independent individual but it would be lovely to meet someone to share my interests and much more. Meeting that someone special is clearly a combination of many complex factors. I am a firm believer it is down to inexplicable chemistry which is virtually impossible to describe in words, the only one fact is that when it happens I will know!
So what sort of person am I looking for? I know what I don't want (anyone who is dishonest and/or in an existing relationship) but otherwise I am fairly open given that to be too prescriptive could mean that inexplicable chemistry is missed!
I am seeking someone who will be a genuine friend, amusing, honest and with a natural ability to make me laugh, after that whatever life has in store. Someone who is independent of thought but open to others' views and willing to live for today. Someone who is happy to walk in the pouring rain and become absolutely drenched but then conversely equally happy to dress up for dinner and enjoy the finer things in life. Someone who is happy to share and/or support my interests but equally happy to pursue their own. In short a caring, fun and sincere individual who values true friendship and if compatibility strikes then who knows......
