About her
Well for the most part I'm a happy and contented little soul, lucky to be living in a beautiful part of the country and with wonderful friends and family close by. I worked as a primary teacher and have been happily retired for a year now. I enjoy walking and running, visiting National Trust properties and just generally socialising with friends. A few very close friends, rather than lots of 'contacts'. I'm very fond of gardening and have had an allotment for a few years now. With all the extra time that lockdown has provided, it has never looked better! I've begun to discover some of the delights of classical music (Rachmaninov particularly) though I do also like more modern music and the arts in general. Prior to lockdown, I was teaching English to a Syrian refugee as a volunteer and hope to resume that soon.
I've lived and worked abroad for a number of years, which has definitely shaped the person I am today, happiness, contentment and love being far more important to me than money or material goods. My feet are now quite definitely back in this country but I still enjoy the chance to travel and see new places. Trips abroad in the last few years have included Costa Rica, South Africa, China and Tibet.
I've been on my own for a couple of years now. I'm not really looking for a 'fling' but it would be great to make new friends and hopefully find someone to love and care for. My daughter is married with two small children, they live close by. I do see them often but I also have time for the things I want to do.
Some things that would sum me up would be: more of a lark than an owl, more Radio 4 than TV and quality rather than quantity. I seem to find that quirky or slightly different way to do things, so 'slightly bonkers' may well sum me up quite nicely!!

It would be great to meet someone who has some things in common with me, but perhaps also has his own interests. Someone who is caring and kind, honest and loyal and who also can be independent. Travel has always been a love of mine, so someone who is keen to do some travelling in the future. Someone interesting with things to talk about but who is also a good listener. A man with a sense of humour, someone who can laugh at me, himself and life in general.
It's hard to to be prescriptive and I guess it's the meeting that's important.
