About him
I am a contented, warm-hearted guy whose interests include music (listening to and playing), art (painting), gardening, the outdoors, animals in general, and my dog Fin.
I work from home (limited hours these days – by choice). In the past, I have lived and worked abroad (Germany, USA, Paris) and love mixing with different cultures. I have travelled widely - enough to realise that beauty, meaning and adventure can be anywhere - including on your own doorstep.
I like the outdoor life (walks or a light cycle ride in the countryside - with a lovely country pub perhaps), the culture cities have to offer (art house cinema, theatre, gigs, galleries etc). I’m rarely bored but that doesn’t mean I am manically running around like a loon. Quite times involve eg Sunday papers (yes – hard copy) with toast and tea, a bit of yoga, guitar playing, or working my way quietly through millions of books.
I just started doodling with abstract painting and I have joined a swing jazz band. This comes as I reduce my working hours and have moved to Northumberland from the East Mids. All very new. But who knows where I will end up.
Friends know me as someone with a mischievous sense of humour (my dear late friends called me "the happy cheeky chappy") and a giant in a crisis. Mind, they also seem to think I am intelligent! :-)
