About him
Well, what to say? I’ve worked hard to help my two boys be the best they can and as they are now young men I feel it’s time for me.
I like the nicer things in life but am not materialistic. I used to run my own business but am now in academia - which I love! I think it’s fair to say that I’m a little geeky and have an interest in technology, business, science and engineering.
I've done a little bit of travelling over the years and have collected my share of experiences (expeditions to the Arctic, visits to McLaren and so on). I'm not a going to the gym person - I used to row competitively years ago and have had my fill of monotonous exercise - I'd rather get on my mountain bike or walk up a hill.
I've got a very good sense of humour and a dry wit. I see so many of the funny things in life - even in adversity.
I'm looking to make friends first and take it from there. I'm very keen to meet people who are content with who they are and can laugh at life. Someone who knows how to share yet loves to be spoilt from time to time. Someone who is spontaneous - sharing a kiss or a squeeze of the hand whenever the feeling takes them.
I’ve not swam with sharks or jumped out of a plane, I’ve achieved some things but believe a quiet modesty is far better than shouting about how good you are. I guess this is why I’m not a great fan of social media. Oh, and on that point, I love a good meal but can’t see the point of taking photographs of it ;-)
I've got a quiet passion for vintage and vintage industrial items. I like the quirky and interesting and would prefer to have a house full of old things than have everything all 'shiny new'.

I'm not sure if there is such a thing as an ideal match, I think it's about talking and feeling if there is a 'click'.
I absolutely adore intellectual conversation and debate as well as dry humour. For me, the ability to share conversations is very important. Ideally my match would be caring, tactile and enjoy the fun and passion a good relationship can bring.
