About her
I am bright, intelligent and funny (according to my friends), I love life, good food (both eating and cooking), friends, entertaining, travelling, and working on my allotment as well as reading, the theatre, the countryside, laughing and living. I am independent and positive in outlook and work hard running my own business which I set up 22 years ago.
I was born and brought up in Cape Town and moved to England in the late 70's. My up bringing has given me a long lasting love of open spaces, mountains, sand and sea. I have be fortunate enough to have travelled quite extensively but there are still many places that I would love to see.
My likes are varied and many. My dislikes are few - I hate pomposity, hypocrisy, dishonesty and green peppers.
I love scented flowers, good wine, crosswords and word games.
Music is a big passion both live and recorded. I enjoy singing (on my own mostly in the car) and get enormous pleasure from growing my own vegetables and flowers.
I love Georgian architecture and prefer classic to contemporary in most things. Although if carefully combined the styles can work really well together.
In an ideal world I would love to find someone who would be just as happy to spend an evening at the opera as to spending time helping me out on the allotment. I rate companionship, kindness and the ability to laugh together very highly
