My friends would describe me as a positive outgoing and friendly person. Always looking to see the best in people, and believe life is for living not just existing. I am a fairly tactile person generally and like to give and receive affection. I think thoughtfulness and a bit of romantic gentleness is a great way to ease unfortunate banalities which life can throw at us.

I love living in East Anglia and find it has a lot to offer. It seems more peaceful than many other parts of the country. Now that I don't work so hard I enjoy relaxing a bit more and doing some of the things I never seemed to have time to do before. I enjoy theatre, cinema, walking, visiting places and just relaxing. I love the outdoor life, my garden and I have a couple of horses and a cat. I belong to a choral society where we sing a very mixed selection of music which I enjoy. I also go to an exercise class when I can. I like visiting places of interest and walking by the sea.
I am happy living on my own but think I wouldn't like to live on my own for ever. I would like to find someone special, and someone who finds me special. It is important to share the good bits of life and have someone close to help one share the less good bits when they happen.
My work took me all over the country so I had few friends near where I live and so I am looking to meet people in a general sense, not just desperately partner seeking. I would be happy to move to another area of the country if everything else was 'right'. A new beginning can be a wonderful thing - with the right person!

My ideal 'match' would be someone with a good sense of the ridiculous who can see the funny side of things but can be serious when life requires.
I would hope to meet someone who shared some of my interests but think it can also be good to have different interests from each other, especially when not working quite as much. Genuine friendship and companionship seems to take many forms so I am open minded and optimistic.
I tend not to drink too much alcohol and am not a great pub person, so I think a deal breaker for me would be someone who finds pubs the centre of their social life. However, it could be I haven't found the right people or the right pub yet! And I am afraid a smoker would be a deal breaker....
