About her
My friends say I'm kind and considerate and a good listener. I am fortunate to have some very good friends that I value a lot. I'm interested in people and will happily strike up a conversation with anyone ...! I'm quite intelligent but not clever (I would say!). I don't read newspapers but am interested in much of what I hear on Radio 4. I care a lot about people caught up in bad situations and have supported charities that help make things better. In particular I've been very fortunate to have been able to sponsor a Kenyan girl through education. She is now about to go to university which is great. I love spending a day working in my garden or walking in good company in Northumberland or high fell walking in the Lakes. But I don't seem to manage this time out very often! I'm self-employed and run a small arts charity and also work as an associate with a university research centre. I also really enjoy spending time with my daughters who are now nearly grown up. They are good girls, are independent and do interesting things in their spare time - between them Sea Cadets, studying Latin, unicycling, steel band..! Oh and I have two older daughters in their early 20s who live and work in other parts of the UK but who are definitely part of the family. This Christmas we had a great time playing board games - Charades and Balderdash! In September I began studying Theology part-time which I'm finding a challenge but very interesting. About to start a module that includes a placement with a chaplaincy service which I'm looking forward to! I also spend quite a lot of time at the moment doing things for the church I worship at as I'm currently Churchwarden... but I come to the end of my term in April so I should have more time then. I have a positive outlook on life as you can probably tell!

I'd love to meet someone who's also positive and interested in life. I understand we all have a past that makes us who we are. And I would be really interested and willing to take this on board and embrace this. But I would look for someone that is more interested in the future and what might be new and good in it. I'm looking for a man who wants to be cared for and supported and offer care and support in return; someone who is looking for love and to be loved. I recognise that we all have commitments - work, family and hobbies, studies - that take up time. I think that a relationship that works will have to take these into account; that each partner would be willing to be part of the other's lives and interests; whilst not giving up their own. I imagine compromise and an understanding attitude will be important. A man would need to be willing to meet and get to be comfortable with my family.
