Family and friends would say, I hope, young at heart, active, kind, loyal, courteous, sense of humour, a good listener.
Widowed in 2012, I miss female company and being close to someone I really care about. It would be wonderful to find that special person who could set my heart racing again.
I love walking, my main way of keeping fit. The pace may have slowed a bit, but I’m happy that I retain the stamina to do long walks, coastal and countryside. Too often, unfortunately, it’s on my own. Music is another passion: classical, opera, operetta, some of the pop music from my younger days. Enjoy going to concerts, theatre, opera and ballet. I like visiting art galleries in London and elsewhere. Travel is always exciting- many places I still hope to see - but would be so much more fun if shared.
Tennis features among my sporting interests, albeit played these days at a more sedate pace and less competitively. I dabble inexpertly in golf. Reading has always been a favourite pastime: mainly novels but also poetry and history. I do some voluntary work.
No commitment to any political party, but I take a keen interest in what is happening in our fragile and fractured world.

Am hesitant about listing attributes and qualities in pursuit of the ‘ideal’. Attraction and chemistry are mysterious and unpredictable, so I’d rather stay fairly open-minded. Nevertheless, I do think that while opposites can attract, it would be important for the two of us to have some mutual interests.
An active, warm-hearted, affectionate lady with a zest for life and a romantic streak, - that’s someone I would love to meet.
