About him
I am independent but would love to meet someone to share some of the things I enjoy and discover what they would like to share. And Yes, I am a romantic.
Originally I trained in sculpture, went into teaching, then after retraining, spent most of my career as an architect. I have recently encountered a more spiritual side to life and discovered the joys of walking.
I enjoy cooking and eating, maintain my health and fitness with regular walks with friends, solo or in a small group, and play table tennis twice a week. My pics are various from last 4 years; main from Jan 2024, last three from May 2022 including me age 3 at Weymouth. Previously a Londoner, I now live in beautiful Dorset and spend many happy hours exploring inland or on the coast. I enjoy weeks/weekends away, trips to visit friends, artist’s studios and galleries, pub lunches, or reading in the garden. I like to live at a pace where I can savour and enjoy the quiet moments, winter at the beach and summer in the woods. I don't get to London as often as I should, but I still love the city for its museums and galleries, for its buzz and the excitement of the buildings.
I like to travel: but my French had all but died from neglect. I started a French language course, and another in Pilates, then life got in the way. Unfortunately Covid stopped my swimming lessons. Meditation is something I would like to develop. For hobbies I do some investing and enjoy two painting and drawing groups.
I don't watch Bake Off or Strictly, but you can, if you will let me watch amateur MasterChef and HIGNFY, listen to jazz or classical music, Carole King to Callas. I enjoy any movie directed by Woody Allen or Clint Eastwood. I read fiction and non-fiction - recent reads: Robert Macfarlane and
James Rebanks. But Georges Simenon fills my shelves.
I think my friends would say that I am kind, honest, sensitive, reliable and flexible. They used to say I take life seriously and I am too self critical, but now I can laugh, have a dry sense of humour, and I can laugh at myself.

There is no single description, but my ideal match would be kind, genuine, affectionate and romantic. She would be honest and humble yet proud of what she has achieved. She would want time to be who she wants to be.
