Hi
I'm Michael! I am 44 and I work as an actuarial systems developer (I write and test mathematical models for life insurance companies I work as an independent contractor and I have done very well out of it. Originally from Australia, I have been in the UK for 12 years.
Outside of work, I love art (The Tate Modern is just about a second home) and music. I used to work as a DJ in my student days. I probably still would if there was any money in it.
I would describe as bit of an academic but very down to earth. I write the most complex of models for my clients... and then go enjoy a night at the pub like every one else.
I moved out of home in my late teens so I am very domesticated. No "mummy's boy" here! I can cook very well and enjoy matching food with wine.
I love animals... more of a dog than cat person.
I am a Christian and I enjoy my church life a lot. Partially from a spiritual perspective but equally that my church mates know how to have a good time without all the excess booze. Nothing wrong with a beer but all day at the pub just aint my thing.
As you can see from the photos, I used to be very large but I have lost a lot of weight in the last year and I am serious about keeping it up. I would consider my commitment to fitness and health, as well as my Christian faith, as central parts to who I am and what I am looking for in a relationship.
I am here to find a friend, maybe more if things turn out alright... no rush!

I am after a partner with intelligence, individuality and drive. A common Christian faith is very important. If we have a similar sense of humour, it really helps. A couple that laughs together stays together.
Height/weight not overly important but a commitment to heath and fitness is. I used to be very big as you can see from some of the photos but I have the fitness/health "bug" these days and I am SERIOUS about keeping the waistline down.
Overall, I am after my equal. Someone who is highly intelligent and stimulates my intellectually. If you are stunningly good looking but very little "upstairs", the relationship is going to fail badly. Honestly, I think physical/sexual attraction lasts about three dates tops!
I respect a strong and well thought opinion (even if it is diametrically opposite to mine) more than some who just blandly agrees with everything I say.
So.... if you can discuss whether people like Piero Manzoni and Marcel Duchamp where geniuses or just plain mad, appreciate Cy Twombly's "Quattro Stagione" in the Tate Modern, laugh at my offbeat jokes and enjoy a run with me... we could get along fine...
