About him
Perseverance, because I seem to have been here for quite a long time. You know how it is. Life takes over. Intrusive alarm clocks sound. Work calls. Wars happen. Lessons are learned. Reports need writing. Speeches made. Colleagues counselled. Children grow. Holidays come and go, as do pets. Parents and siblings die, too quickly. Memories crystalize. And worse, a life-long partner succumbs too soon to incurable adversity. And so, today arrives. The late afternoon of life. Welcome to the strange world of a dating site. The trepidatious search begins.
I am a fit and faithful ex-military officer, fortunate enough to have travelled widely across the globe, both on and off duty. I am richer for the experience. Inevitably, I have stories to tell and I could bore you sometime, preferably over dinner. I speak well and have been known to sing, not only in the shower. In contrast to a long Service career I very much enjoy literature, music, the theatre and all things artistic. When not flying I spent too long 'flying' a desk in Whitehall, using my many hours commuting to study for an Open University degree. Consequently, I know London reasonably well. Some may consider me a private person. So be it. I do passionately regret the arrival of social media into our world.
Many hours of my life have been spent in the air imparting knowledge to young adults and, on the ground, to younger children. Sport has featured much in my life. I continue to play tennis (doubles!) and enjoy watching rugby and cricket. Though now based in scenic Shropshire I frequently visit London where I have retained my membership of the RAF Club. It is in my view the world's finest city. Were we to meet I hope you would find me an interesting, respectful, amusing and courteous companion.

I am always surprised by the people I find attractive so I hesitate to be too prescriptive here. As I regard travel to be very life enhancing she should have spent some time discovering other parts of this planet and I would be more than happy to hear her adventures. She should enjoy sport and the arts and perhaps have a quiet passion for music and literature. Sometimes demure, sometimes silly, sometimes intellectually curious and sometimes irresistibly attractive, she should enjoy eating out, occasional surprises, trips to the theatre and weekends away. There will be times when she would need her own space and I would respect this. She should perhaps be seeking a trusting, loyal and loving relationship to help survive an increasingly hostile and dispassionate world. Don't let life take over. There's no time to lose.
