About him
Intelligent, mid 60s guy with eclectic tastes. Friendly, generally easy going, with a fairly upbeat attitude and a sharp sense of humour (on the dry side). Enjoys walking and exploring the natural world. Tall and in fairly decent shape.
Well travelled, especially off the beaten track. Not so well read - but surprisingly literate. Other interests would include gardening, music, photography (I'm told I have a good eye), sports (watching rather than playing these days - that iffy knee!) and conversation. Occasionally happy under canvas for the closeness to nature although more often enjoy modestly comfortable surroundings. My National Trust card isn't used enough.
Something of a gentleman. Try to be open, honest and very much genuine. Kind and caring, yet not possessive. Prefer red wine to white (but adapt to the seasons), fruity granola cereal to a full English, and dogs to cats (but have no pets).
Support Fair-trade/organic, recycling and environmental issues. Interested in conservation & wildlife (that degree in zoology showing through). Can cook (moderately well but it's not a thrill for one), iron my own shirts and sew on buttons. Handy with paint brushes and much, much more, due to an extensive property improvement project I've lived through and am finally emerging from. This has also shown me to be surprisingly creative and necessarily resilient. Auction purchases have been restored and added to the interior, while the garden has been tamed and transformed.
Some recentish events have included Hampton Court Flower Festival, Diamond League Athletics, assorted gigs (The Dead South, Seth Lakeman, The Saw Doctors), watching The Critic and EPiC, Eastbourne tennis, and walking in the Shropshire hills.
Comfortable with who I am, willing to discover what we might be. I know there are more adventures remaining in life. Preferably plenty of shared ones. There's so much of the UK and Ireland to explore, for starters.

It's a mind and body thing - and these can't be defined on an electronic piece of paper. That said, it's most likely that you're active and enjoy the outdoors, a smart cookie, and with interests that have some overlap with my own, including that care for the environment.
Like me, you'd be delighted to find a great friendship. We have our own established lives and are looking to enhance them. Who knows what the future might bring or how long it will be. There's still the hope of finding passion, so we should share that belief.
