Hello…
After spending some time here last year, I decided to take a break—but I’m open to the idea that the right person might just tempt me back.
A little about me…
With my son now grown and living in Edinburgh after studying architecture, life has shifted into a new chapter—one with a bit more freedom and spontaneity.
Originally from Norfolk (and still very fond of the North Norfolk coast), my career in banking took me across Cambridge, Northampton, London, and further afield to the USA, East Africa and the Indian subcontinent. I’ve been based in Hampshire for many years now, but I still enjoy returning to my roots.
I’d describe myself as intelligent, curious, and easy to talk to—equally happy discussing current affairs, travel, or something lighter over a good coffee.
Although officially retired, I’ve never quite mastered the art of doing nothing. These days I keep busy with a mix of online projects, self-help publishing, and portrait photography. The flexibility means I can work from almost anywhere… which makes travel all the more appealing.
I enjoy a fairly active lifestyle—cycling, walking, exploring the countryside—as well as theatre, films, comedy, and the occasional camping trip (optional, I promise). I also sing with a local Rock Choir these days, which is a fun contrast to my more formal musical past.
Travel is still very much part of my life—whether that’s a European city break or somewhere a little sunnier. I’ve recently been exploring Eastern Europe, which has been a pleasant surprise.
I tend to lean more country than city, though I do enjoy London for a cultural fix now and then.

Attraction matters, of course—but for me it’s as much about presence, warmth and how someone carries herself as it is about appearance. Whether you’re slim or have a few curves, what counts is that you feel comfortable in your own skin and take a quiet pride in how you present yourself.
Someone who enjoys both sides of life would suit me well—equally happy dressing up for an evening out as relaxing in something more casual. And if you enjoy wearing heels, you’ll find I’m comfortably tall enough at around 6'2".
I tend to lean more towards the countryside than the city, though I do enjoy the occasional trip to London for theatre or a cultural fix. Travel is important to me too—whether that’s a long weekend in a European city or somewhere a little sunnier. I’ve recently been exploring parts of Eastern Europe, which has been a pleasant surprise.
I’m drawn to a woman who is naturally curious and enjoys good conversation—someone who can share thoughts, ideas, and a few laughs along the way. Background matters less than mindset, but a life that’s been interesting and well-lived is always appealing—whether through a career, business, or other passions.
A couple of small preferences: coffee tends to win over tea, and I’m more night owl than early riser.
Above all, I value affection, closeness, and that easy sense of connection that grows between two people. For me, a relationship should feel warm, natural and genuinely shared—where both people enjoy being together, in every sense of the word.
