About him
I’m so normal. I’m only here because my wife died a year ago.. I miss her badly but I’m trying to carve out an enjoyable and meaningful life and not sit around moping. It’s what she would want. I have support from my children ( 4 in London; one in Sydney) extended family, friends, therapy, acupuncture, massage. I travel to S. France sometimes where I have a small but very comfortable apartment. I have five kids and seven grandkids. I have a nice house in a village, with big garden, friendly neighbours I get along with people of all ages. I don’t sit and watch TV too much. I can’t stand reality TV shows and I’ve never watched Strictly whatever it is. However, I really don’t care if my partner wants to watch TV shows that I don’t like, that’s fine by me - my late wife wasn’t that keen on watching football! ( She fancied Thierry Henry though )
My favourite streaming TV series at present is Landman (particularly series 2) with Billy Bob Thornton, Andy Garcia and Demi Moore and I talk about it incessantly, which reminds me, if you’re going to flinch at the language and subject matter of this series then it’s never going to work between us!
I enjoy playing guitar in my funky soul band and gig regularly in and around London and sometimes in France. I retired from being a lawyer about 15 years ago. I’ve never done anything like a dating app before. I’ve travelled a lot - USA/Asia/Europe - and lived in Australia for six years when I was much younger. In fact, I’m a ｣10 Pom. My first wife was (and still is) Australian and my first three children are proudly half Australian.
I’m music crazy, I have played in bands all my life and I’ve done music cruises from the USA down to the Caribbean and whilst I certainly enjoyed the music, I’m not sure that cruising is something that appeals in itself. When I’m travelling, I’m not so good at trooping around antiquities with dozens of others. I’m better off sitting in a bar with the locals.

Someone who likes chatting has got other interests maybe gardening, cooking, arts, reading, music, stuff like that, takes a pride in her appearance. Likes children. Caring. Compassionate. Flexible. Must have an open mind about life in general I doubt whether I’d be a good match with a Daily Mail reader.! When I’m sad, I don’t need someone to tell me to cheer up. I need someone to hold my hand.. I need someone who talks to me rather than at me. I love a two way conversation about pretty much anything. I really respect people who are honest about themselves, their likes, dislikes what they think about, not secretive, what makes them laugh or cry.
I don’t get on well with people who are prejudiced or pretentious.
Although I’ve only been on this platform for a very short while , I have to say it has been interesting reading some of the profiles. It seems to me the theatres must be crammed and the hills must be alive with people on country walks checking their dating apps.! Actually I’m a bit of a convert to the dating app world because I discovered that two separate couples (my close neighbours) each met their current spouses on an app . Are they happy? Yes I’m pleased to say they certainly are.. doing all sorts of stuff and getting on fine. Maybe I will be joining them..
