My friends call me MTP. Mike the pilot.
I’m a good egg. Life is not always easy is it ? I’ve had a few pretty serious bumps in the road.
But I have had a life flying airplanes. Initially for the Royal Air Force then for a major UK long haul carrier. I have been lucky to have literally travelled the world.
Ten years ago. I had a below knee amputation as the result of a motorcycle accident. I continued flying airliners. Only person in the world currently to do so as far as I know, I can do pretty much anything .. but run.
I’m a very fortunate person doing a job I love supported by a large loving family. Happy. Gregarious. Love living near the sea. Love the Arsenal. Love my family oh .. and adore my F type convertible.
I am an ambassador for the Douglas Bader Foundation. I have lead their disabled air display team and recently drove a combat ambulance full of prosthetic supplies to Kyiv, Ukraine during the war. I give talks to schoolchildren about resilience and teach cadets how to fly big jets.
I like history and politics. I love to read. I enjoy cooking cars , beaches, beach huts , boats and bbqs. Sharing is better.
