About her
At this stage of my life, I feel at ease with myself, and care much less about what others expect. This in turn has made me much more relaxed about other people being who they are. Our brains don’t all work the same way, and we’ve all had different experiences, but that’s OK so long as there is acceptance and understanding.
I work in book publishing, and I love my job. I care about things being done as well as they can be, but also recognise that the pursuit of perfection isn’t always the most important thing.
I like to think beyond the obvious and immediate expectations, though I am not wild or antiestablishment. I just believe in looking at things for what they are and not just accepting what has been passed down as the only approach. When you unpick things, it’s surprising how much of what we think we should be doing is based on something that really has no grounds.
I am interested in art, design and architecture. I enjoy reading, though I need more time for it. I like programmes like The Bear, Big Bang Theory, and various other. Though I only watch television when there is something I am particularly interested in. The last film I saw at the cinema was Spiderman: Brand New Day, as my daughter and I have recently got into Spider-man! Not something I would have expected to enjoy.
My life is very focused around my daughter, as she struggles a bit, but she is getting older and I’m hoping that there will be more space for me as she grows. Nonetheless, I am hoping to find someone who gets the complications of me being a working single mum and has the patience to look deeper at what that still offers in terms of connection and family.

Having been single for a few years now, after previously having been in relationships since my teens, I feel much less prescriptive about who might be the right person for me. I would like someone who can hold an interesting conversation about life, art, politics, psychology - even if they don’t know loads about it. I’m not looking per se for high intellect, but I do enjoy have stimulating conversations that are not just about what’s for dinner.
I have many gaps in my knowledge and love to learn more from someone, and hope that they will like learning things from me as well.
And, of course, someone kind. Someone who is non-judgmental. Thoughtful and caring. And who would accept my life with my twelve-year-old daughter and respect it.
