My interests are sports and culture generally. I play a lot of golf and squash and also do some cycling. Indoors, I like reading classic novels and doing cryptic crosswords. I also enjoy visiting art galleries and cinema. I have done quite a lot of travelling and lately have spent a lot of time in Charente, France where I have a second home.
Personally I like to think that I am easy going with a nice sense of humour. I also am able to appreciate and be responsive to life's diversity. I basically believe that life is not just about being, it is more about doing, and I try to stay open, responsive and optimistic. When I wake up each day, I say to myself, this is going to be another great day and endeavour to be a better person and neighbour - more tolerant, more generous, more kind and less selfish and self-centred. It isn't easy but the attempt gives a glimpse of what it is to be civilised.
