Perhaps all you really need at the beginning is enough curiosity to want to know more, So, here we go…
Home life involves a young daughter who keeps life properly grounded, and a fox red lab who runs the household. Work means I travel a fair bit, enjoy the pace, challenge, and being close to what’s next rather than what’s already happened. It’s demanding, unpredictable at times. That said, I’m equally protective of switching it off when it matters, because having a life outside work, and time with my daughter, isn’t negotiable.
Spare time...I’m usually somewhere outdoors. Coastlines tend to win over cities, sea air over traffic, and weekends rarely involve sitting still for too long. The sea has always had a habit of pulling me back. You spend a little time around it and before long it quietly persuades you to go further, stay longer, go deeper than last time. It rewards you occasionally, humbles you regularly, and has a habit of reminding you that control is often slightly overrated. Sometimes it means surfing, paddleboarding, sailing, or disappearing offshore whenever the opportunity presents itself. Crossing the Atlantic a few times probably didn’t help.
When I’m not near the water, I’m usually somewhere in the countryside; boots on, outdoors, occasionally involving bikes, horses, muddy fields, or pursuits that tend to start early and finish around a firepit or pub table somewhere.
Friends would probably tell you I’m equally comfortable turning up muddy and windswept after a day outside as I am dressed up with a cocktail in hand pretending to be sophisticated. Both versions are genuine.
I like good people, good conversation, live music, impromptu plans, summer evenings that somehow become 2am, open-air concerts, dinner tables that go on for hours, and the sort of company where doing absolutely nothing somehow becomes the highlight.
Fair warning: I exercise regularly and have a tendency to suggest slightly ambitious ideas that usually begin with, “It’ll be fun…” Anyway, that’s probably enough for now.

Ultimately, I’m looking for someone to share life with, the conversations that accidentally last for hours, the adventures that weren’t planned, the moments where a quick drink somehow turns into watching the sun come up somewhere unexpected.
Someone curious about life. Someone who still gets excited about things. Someone equally comfortable disappearing outdoors for an adventure, or dressing up for an occasion that probably didn’t require quite that much effort.
I’ve always thought connection is more about energy than categories, and attraction tends to arrive when you least expect it. I’m drawn to people with curiosity beyond the normal, confidence to take what they desire, warmth and deep sensuality which brings its own intrigue, and just enough mischief to occasionally encourage bad ideas that somehow become the best memories.
I like chemistry, not the obvious kind, the difficult-to-explain kind. The sort that makes eye contact last half a second longer than it should. The person who occupies your thoughts at inconvenient moments. The one who can make a crowded room disappear simply by walking into it.
I appreciate people who have their own passions, opinions and stories to tell. Someone who can challenge me and take me out of my comfort zone, make me laugh unexpectedly, and understands that sometimes the best moments are found somewhere between conversation, intimacy, adventure and temptation.
Honesty matters. Loyalty matters. But so does intrigue. So does warmth. So does that quiet electricity when you know something interesting might happen.
It’s probably a lot to ask for… but then again, the good things usually are.
