About him
I am a happy sort of guy and always optimistic. I like the simple things in life (a glass of wine, watching a DVD, snug on the sofa, with a roaring log fire) but, equally, would be happy to go climb K2 if the opportunity arose. I love hot climes and the sea.
With those I am close to, I am supportive, caring, and very tactile. I am a hopeless romantic and, always bold and adventurous. But, now, I try and balance this with a more practical, and realistic, approach to life (although, often, a compulsive nature and love of spontaneity override such considerations).
I have two great daughters (24 and 28). They are my best friends, keep me sane, and happy, but also very poor!
Am well travelled and have an insatiable curiosity for all things in life. First memories are of camel trains in the desert, have lived on a Belizean caye, swum with dolphins, and trekked in the jungle.
Very eclectic interests, enjoy poetry (Seamus Heaney, in particular), music (anything, but can listen to smooth jazz all day), art and literature, the theatre and cinema, ballet and opera (but, nothing too heavy), tiddlywinks in Bradford. Still like to potter in my pocket handkerchief of a garden and, do a bit of cooking (but, it would be nice to do it with someone else over a glass, or two, of wine).
Ride (badly) just on holiday now, have done a little water ski-ing, sailing and scuba, recently (they're no longer that important, but still fun when the opportunity presents) flew a few years back (even managed to go solo, again). Enjoy exploring, and walking, in the local area, and further afield, with the girls - theme parks, and the scary rides, only very occasionally now! Enjoy eating out (good restaurants or, a greasy cafe), a quiet drink in a pub (if the company is good).
Am still young at heart, like to have fun, try not to take life too seriously and, still have a wicked sense of humour...
